Tonight we are home alone with Emma for the first time in a few days. It is nice to have our
home settled down some, but we would not have traded away the time we got to spend with our family this weekend for anything. Everyone pitched in and helped out to help make Emma's home the best place for her to get better this weekend. Even Great-Grand-Daddy Pugh volunteered to vacuumed our carpets, which was fantastic because Bodie and Sassie keep the carpets in need of a good sweeping almost constantly.
Today Grandpa and Grandma Barrier visited in the early afternoon and they enjoyed some quality time with Emma while she was in an alert stage right after a feeding. It was good to have them in our home for the first time and we will see them again soon. Also Grandma Kathy and Great-Grandma Margret stopped by in the evening and delivered a new car seat that Jen and I had picked out for Emma. Grandpa Garry, Grandma Cindy, and Great-Grand-Daddy Pugh all left to go back to Midland this afternoon and after all their work we will miss having them around. Grandma Cindy will be back with Uncle James and Aunt Martha later in
the week.
It was a good day with lots of new things going on. We were often elated to watch Emma show new signs of energy as she has been getting better, and relief from all of the support that we are getting from family and friends. Then there is feeling of stress from knowing that Emma still has a long way to go to get caught up, and we have a lot more work to do to get her there. It is certainly a challenge and we are facing it head on by pressing forward and aggressively working with Emma to kick this jaundice out of her system.
Tomorrow we have a big afternoon of doctor's appointments and we are going to visit the lactation specialist again to get a gauge for how our progress is doing. We have hopes that things are much better with the breastfeeding as we are certain that more production is taking place, but we want to know for sure how things are going so we know how much to supplement Emma's diet. The lactation specialist has exceptionally helpful and between her, Grandma Cindy, and Aunt Heidi we have really received a lot of very needed help. If not for them we would have given up and gone to the bottle long ago, but they keep us going and we love and appreciate them for that.
At the end of the day, which I guess is right now for me, it's still all for this one little girl who has made our lives better then we could have ever imagined in just the few short days that we have had her here with us. Again everyone please keep up the praye
rs for the jaundice levels to go down. We will post on the blog as soon as we have an update, hopefully by mid afternoon tomorrow.

As usual there are more photos again in the photo album, so check them out. I know there's a bunch but what can I say I am very proud daddy and I can't get too many photos of my baby.
Good night everyone.

We really enjoyed our visit with Jon, Jen and Emma even if Grandma had a few busy nights helping with the baby. It was definately a work of love for all of us. We hated to leave with so much hard work still to do, but we put our trust in Heavenly Father to keep his hand on little Emma and help Jon and Jen in the coming days.
Grandpa Garry for Grandma Cindy and Great Grandaddy Pugh.
