Fun & Boating...

Jen, Emma, the dogs and I are all staying up at my parent's place on Mullet Lake and we are really enjoying some down time playing in the water and just relaxing in Northern Michigan.
The weather has been really great, not too hot but not cold just about perfect holding in the middle 70's. The lake has also been pretty warm aswell and calm, so yesterday afternoon and I convinced Jen to go out on a wave runner with me.

Previously Jen had only taken a ride or two on the wave runners and she had not really enjoyed it. Last year when we tried wave running the lake was pretty choppy and it bounced her around quiet a bit and she had not had much luck getting on and off the wave runner without dumping us over. So yesterday when the weather was warm, and the lake was still we went out and Jen found out how much fun wave runners can be. After she drove us around for awhile we switched seats and I played with the wave runner alittle bit so that she could see what you can do without flipping over and when we were done Jen decided that she was no longer against wave runners.

In addition to wave runners we have also taken a few boat rides on Grandpa Garry's Boat. Emma has been going on boat rides with us, and she really seems to enjoy them. She mostly sleeps through them, the noise from the engine and the motion of the waves seem to sooth her to sleep. On Saturday we went South across the lake and went up the Indian River channel where we got lots of pictures of swans, ducks and other wetland wildlife and we got to see some more of how the inland waterways work. Then on Sunday we went North to the Cheboygan River and went a ways up that river which was more developed and consisted mostly of houses and other boats. While we were out Jen learned to drive the boat and we all had a great time, we even got our Canadian Brother-in-Law, Greg (known as "The Canadian") up on water skies for awhile, he did pretty well and even dropped a ski and slalom skied for alittle while.

Other than relaxing we have enjoyed introducing Emma to family that she had not previously had the opportunity to meet. She has met Aunt Cathy, Uncle Chuck, Aunt JoAnn, Uncle Mike, Cousin Taylor, and renewed her relationship with her Grandma Cindy, Grandpa Garry, Great Grandaddy Jasper Uncle Greg and Aunt Liz.

This is just a start because many more family members will be arriving up to the lake houses today, so we are looking forward to spending time with all of them, and passing Emma around for everyone to enjoy. It has been a great trip so far and it is passing too fast. we will be returning home on Thursday morning and we will upload more pictures when we get home.

Love You All...
